The stronger the support system, the stronger that they become! Hope your enjoying your new home! The parents (or you as a parent) is the most important role in helping your teen get through things. I think over time it gets easier, especially once they are aquainted with new friends, etc, probably a freshman or getting ready to start freshman year, should get a little easier once they can make a few peers to hang out with also. I'm currently going through this with my 13 year old. Several months back, I got married and we relocated. The transition has been very scary and hard, but I have faith. I have seen improvement in my teens behavior, but it's still very hard. I don't get much rest and sometimes I wonder if I've made the right decision. On one hand I feel like I deserve to be happy, but on the other hand I feel as if my happiness doesn't matter. If my teen had their way, it would be the three of us relocating back to our (my teen and I) original state. This is not an option right now. Anymore advice? Thank you for this blog.
