Stolen art is a business that is believed to be the second largest to drug trafficking and a $6 billion dollar business.
That’s equals to around 293 Lamborginis.
There’s several agencies and groups that help with stolen art such as artloss.com (the biggest online database for stolen art), Find Stolen Art (another online database), and Interpol.
It’s not merely just seen within movies such as Oceans Twelve or Once a Thief, but you’ll be surprised to see it’s a real job for some people. Last year in November, the Italian police busted a 200-million-euro stolen Art ring.

The Mexican painter, Rufino Tamayo had his famous 1970 painting Tres Personajes stolen from a Houston man’s storage in 1987. It was later found in the New York City trash by Elizabeth Gibson and was later sold at Sotheby’s auction for $1 million dollars.

The world’s most famous painting was stolen in 1911 from the August 11, 1911 from the Louvre in Paris. Two year’s later it was recovered after Vincenzo Peruggia tried to sell it to the directors of the Ulffizi Gallery in Florence.
Gayo’s Donkey Falls is worth over £8 million euros and was found hanging in a wall in Eastern Spain with twenty other stolen pieces of art.

Half of the £30 million stolen goods were found in June when they tried to see it to a police informant.
